Africa Centre for Public Leadership -ACPL is a Pan-African professional membership organization established to promote the principles and practice of transformational leadership in Africa.

It iexists as the professional learning arm of FLED Internaional Leadership Institute, and is a member of FLED Group Africa. ACPL was establsihed as part of broader initiatives to promote transformational public leadership in Africa through Fledism Leadership Philosophy.

Mission: to inspire transformative approach to public leadership through training, networking, and peer support.

Vision: An Africa where public leadership is people-centred, not leader-centric.

 ACPL Objectives

Membership Induction – To identify qualified individuals and professionals in the private and public sectors and Induct them as Members of ACPL.

Professionalization – To promote high professional standards for public leaders in Africa through adherence to Code of Ethics for all members.

Capacity Building – To provide training, resources, and opportunities that enhance professional career advancement of Members through Continuing Professional Leadership Development Programs (MCPD).

Platform of Engagement– To serve as a non-partisan platform to engage political actors and politicians for knowledge sharing and interrogation of public issues.

Networkingpromote Peer Review processes and networking through cross-continental educational and business Tours.

Public Education – To organize lectures, seminars, and public education dialogues to raise awareness on values-driven public leadership.

Collaborations – To collaborate and partner with relevant government agencies and international bodies to promote sustainable human development in Africa.

Awards & Recognitions – To Institute and host recognition awards for Public Leaders in Africa, as often as possible.

Programs & Activities

ACPL is actively engaged in diverse programs and activities aimed at improving the leadership competence of members and offering them platforms for professional growth and networking. These include:

Leadership Induction – Regular inductions for qualified leaders throughout the year.

Capacity Building & Training– Regular workshops, training, and seminars as part of Continuing Professional Leadership Development (MCPD).

Promotion & Peer Review – Engaging in Peer Review processes for public leaders in private and public institutions and celebrate the achievements and contributions of ACPL members and other leaders to Africa’s transformation.

Advocacy and Lobbying – Engaging with government bodies, policy makers, foreign missions, and international organizations to advocate for sustainable development through professional leadership practice.

Public Leadership Week (PLW) – An annual platform for networking, knowledge-sharing and celebrating the contributions of public leaders to sustainable development in Africa.

Finance & Sustenance

ACPL raises funds to cover its operational costs through different activities including inductions, membership subscriptions, private donations, sales of branded products, hosting of specialized paid-for events, etc.
