Leadership Education in Africa based on Fledism Leadership Philosophy

Every educational endeavor must be grounded in philosophy. Philosophy is what determines any educational curriculum.

This principle applies in promoting leadership education in Africa. As we are aware, leadership development is an inter- disciplinary study, which encompasses politics, business, gender, governance, cultural awareness, psychology, organizational dynamics, personal values clarifications and more.

Therefore in developing leadership training curricular that will serve the purpose of raising transformational public leaders in Africa, it must be grounded in a philosophy that reflects the African unique situation.

This is where #Fledism Leadership Philosophy (FLP) becomes relevant and useful.

Fledism posits that “the primary purpose of leadership, particularly public leadership, is to enhance the quality of human life and everything else is secondary”.

This idea is the foundation of curricular for the training of the new generation of African public leaders who are able to operationalize Africa vision 2063 and beyond.

For us at FLED International Leadership Institute, the home of Fledism Leadership Philosophy, we believe that Africa needs to have a philosophical Paradym Shift, away from long adopted Western inspired leadership education.

Our approach to mainstreaming Fledism Leadership philosophy is to recruit new learners; train and graduate them; support them to get into public leadership positions; expose them to participate in Peer leadership support systems; hold them accountable; and retain them.

We believe that if everyone of us sweeps the front of their house, our communities and cities will be clean.

Everyone who desires to play key role in Nigeria and Africa’s public leadership space should consider taking leadership education at FLED Institute grounded in Fledism Leadership Philosophy.
