REPORT ON COURTESY VISIT TO THE PUBLIC COMPLAINTS COMMISSION, MAITAMA, ABUJA BY FLED -ACPL
The Director General of the African Centre for Public Leadership (ACPL), Dr. Joseph Ibekwe, along with Sir Ikeokwu Nwogu, afpl, Mrs. Ochor Uzoma, afpl, and Ms. Joyce Ahmadu, afpl, paid a courtesy visit to the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), Maitama, Abuja on Wednesday September 17, 2025.
The team was warmly received by the Honourable Chief Commissioner, Hon. Bashir Abubakar, MFR accompanied by members of his management team, including the Secretary to the Commission, the Chief of Staff, Director of the Legal Department, Director of Public Relations, Director of Administration, as well as other senior and support staff.

In his address, Dr. Ibekwe who is also the President of Fled International Leadership Institute, introduced the purpose of the visit, which was to explore possible areas of collaboration with the Commission in leadership training, public awareness creation, and related initiatives. He briefed the Commission about ACPL’s forthcoming Women’s Leadership Conference, scheduled to hold on 14th November.
He formally invited the Honourable Chief Commissioner to be inducted as an Honourary Fellow of ACPL.
In response, the Honourable Chief Commissioner expressed his appreciation to the ACPL team for considering the Commission as a partner in such impactful initiatives. He informed us of the Commission’s forthcoming 50th Anniversary celebration in October, describing it as a significant milestone in its history.
He also noted that the Commission has successfully handled over one million cases since its establishment—a landmark achievement in promoting justice and fairness.
The visit was rounded off with the presentation of a souvenir to the ACPL team by the Honourable Chief Commissioner.
The visit is part of FLED-ACPL wider consultations for collaborations in capacity development.
