Admission Requirements: Minimum of first degree or HND in any discipline, plus years of leadership experience in public or private sector. Higher academic qualification or membership of professional associations could be added advantage.
Target
Global Transformative Leadership Program is an Executive Program for senior professionals in public and private sectors already in positions of strategic responsibility in their organizations where they are expected to provide vision, lead a team, and drive change.
Prospective applicants must hold senior leadership positions in their organizations for no less than 10 years leadership experience. Qualified Private individuals, particularly women are encouraged to apply.
Introduction
The Post-Graduate Certificate in Global Transformative Leadership has a balanced mix of theoretical interrogations and pragmatic focus on leadership challenges, drawing from past and contemporary global examples. Participants will learn to build personal leadership competencies and understand how to manage diversity as transformative leaders in an increasingly complex world.
Description
The Leadership Development courses are designed for mature individuals, supervisors and administrators, project managers, professionals, decision makers, and leaders who are responsible for initiating, facilitating, implementing, or managing change (or a change process) routine operations to bring value and governance to their organizations or community. Students are exposed to theories and studies of the leadership, technical, and legal issues confronting human resource managers in today’s dynamic political and business environment. Learning includes an examination of principles and techniques utilized to effectively lead and manage the human resource in modern diverse society and business organizations.
Competency-Based Learning
Leadership learning programs, courses, and activities are designed for a broad yet specific range of students and learners in diverse communities. Individuals, professionals, groups, teams, communities, and organizations need skills, knowledge, and ability to pursue their careers, professions, and be inspired to pursue purposes, succeed, and remain competitive.

Content
The Course has five key components, which are:
Theoretical Course work – Candidates are required to attend onsite or online classes via dedicated platforms.
Concepts Study/Seminar Presentation – Candidates are required to conduct in-depth study of a few concepts, prepare a paper on one topic, and make presentation on it in online Class, for assessment.
Mentoring Engagement – Candidates are engaged in practical mentorship assignment for a period of 3 months as part of the program
Social Impact Project – The Class is expected to organize and implement a social impact project that demonstrates their commitment to social responsibility.
Study Tour/Field Trip – Students are expected to participate in a field trip that could organized within the country or outside the country. Details and cost implications for the trip will made provided upon registration, depending on the location to be visited.
Methods
The course will be highly interactive and would utilize established functionally effective adult learning (Andragogy) methods to deliver the curriculum. The course is learner-focused; therefore participants will be the key resource persons as they bring their own perspectives, experiences and knowledge into the training. The Faculty team will facilitate the training using the following learning methods:
- Collaborative & Group learning

- Case Study.

At the end of the program, it is expected that participants will:

- Explain and apply the principles of transformative leadership in their work places

- Be able to apply Entrepreneurial skills in Leadership
- Be able to conduct Social Impact Analysis apply the result to implement a Social Impact project
- Develop capacity to engage in practical mentorship exercise
- Present a Seminar Paper on a topical issue of interest
Course-related activities include the following
- Each participant is to conduct in-depth study of a specific concept, prepare a paper on it for assessment
- Candidates are engaged in practical mentorship assignment for a period of 3 months as part of the program
- The Class is expected to organize and implement a social impact project that demonstrates their commitment to social responsibility.
- Course participants will undertake a visit to a corporate or governmental Institution in Nigeria or outside the Country as part of study tour.
Course Assessment Grading
A variety of techniques will be used to assess knowledge and skills acquired by the participants during the course. These will include self-assessment tests, pre-test and post-tests levels of engagement in the entire course. The grading will cover the following:

The Art of Leadership (Code: TL 501)
Description
Leadership development is an emerging body of knowledge. Academic institutions and Faculty are working hard to develop standardized conceptual framework on the subject. There is leadership as an art and leadership as action. There remains a debate about whether leaders are born or made. There is also a debate about the distinction between leadership and management. There is the talk about what leadership is and what it is not; what leaders do and how leaders think. This course will interrogate these issues as participants work with faculty and among themselves to create new knowledge frameworks for application in the real world.

Description
Leadership is not just about what leaders do and how they do them. It is also about why leaders do certain things. Leadership itself is not a one-off impact; it has generational implications. There are things that make leaders to transcend beyond merely taking actions to become embodiments of values and visions. This course will dip deep to expose the art of transformative leadership in a globalized world.

Description
Someone said that every organization or country is the extended personality of the leader. Leaders are supposed to carry the blueprint or the DNA of the organizations they lead. The DNA of any organization is not in the products or services they offer, but in the culture that pervade the organization. Leaders have a responsibility to create the culture that operates in their organizations. Organizational culture is reflected in the concept, ‘this is the way we do things here’. This course will evaluate how leaders create the culture and how they can change or sustain it.
